We mentioned that Google updated their Google Voice app to v0.2.0.2 but we did not have a change log. Scott let us know that Google has put up a article on their Google Voice blog detailing the update. We thought that it was a big enough change to warrant us mentioning it again to make sure users update the app.
The new version has a feature called “Direct access numbers.” This new feature changes how the Google Voice app makes phone calls and speeds things up. Google explains it as:

I am a huge fan of SugarSync and use it to backup and sync all of my computers. Their BlackBerry app has left me wanting for more features but it looks like they have not forgotten about us. They just let us know that they have released a new version of their BlackBerry app which adds the following new features:
- Music Streaming: Now, stream all your tunes from the cloud. Even cooler – you aren’t limited to one song at a time. Just start playing the first song in an album and SugarSync will play through the complete album – even in the background. Whether you’re traveling away from home or commuting, SugarSync gives you all your music at your fingertips.

I get such a kick when I see a Verizon SIM card. The team over at Engadget has gotten some internal documentation on Verizon’s LTE rollout and their system upgrade to support their LTE network. Verizon’s systems are now ready to charge you and setup a LTE connections so you can see that they are moving fast with their rollout.
The documents show that Verizon is still on target with their first 30 citywide rollouts with real speeds of 5-12mbps which is almost as fast as my home cable internet. I doubt we will be seeing BlackBerrys with LTE even in 2011 but maybe a BlackBerry Tablet with LTE would be a nice perk. Hopefully RIM will jump on the LTE bandwagon early instead of letting others pave the way like they did with 3G.
The BlackBerry Bold 9650 is the follow-up device to the Verizon Wireless (and Sprint) BlackBerry Tour 9630 smartphone. Much of the device remains very similar, including many of the specs and overall design, but the Bold 9650 also offers twice the memory of the Tour, adds WiFi support, and also includes the optical trackpad that’s also found on the Verizon Wireless Curve 8520 and on the BlackBerry Bold 9700 available on AT&T and T-Mobile USA. You can make your choice to choose which one you want, enjoy your life every day, and please visit mobile phone comparison to get more information.

One of the complaints I regularly hear about is how most streaming radio stations only work in the US or just the US/UK/Canada. This is because of annoying copyright restrictions that make it impossible for many companies to provide streaming radio outside of these countries. The only one I know of that has even breached beyond those countries is NOBEX.
Josep and Stefano let me know about a recently released app that provides streaming radio to everybody by using SHOUTCast radio stations. There are over 35,000 SHOUTCast stations out there and all of them are available through the app BBStation. They also let you add you own in case they are missing one you like. The other perk is that BBStation only costs a $4.70 one time fee instead of a subscription and works over GPRS, 3G, & Wi-Fi.
Your BlackBerry can help you with anything, even with fishing or boating. Despite what some people say, long weekends are meant for relaxing, not finishing home projects. I’m hoping some of you got to enjoy some downtime. A lot of people decided to go fishing. It’s not for everyone, but I do recommend trying it at least once. You may want to stick to using a lure if you are squeamish about baiting your hook with a live worm. Geez, no matter how tight you tie them in a knot, they always wriggle free. You’re hoping to catch the big one, instead of talking about the one that got away.
“I’m tellin’ ya, it was this big!”
“Um, the last time you told this story, it was only this big.”

I read this news from Berry Review says that the BlackBerry Bold 9800 would be coming around June to AT&T. Justin over @BerryFix just added that he also heard from a trusted source that it will be coming to AT&T in June with a 3 month exclusivity.
RIM usually launches new devices around the same time every year with a key QWERTY launch coming in the June-August time frame every year. I have also been hearing that the WebKit browser is on schedule to be ready for the same time frame so things are starting to add up. Here is hoping that AT&T does not screw up this Bold launch like they did for the 9000 and the delay they had on the 9700
It seems that RIM just can’t keep this hot new BlackBerry locked down. For the fourth time it seems the BlackBerry Slider 9800 has been leaked on to the internet. This time new high resolution pictures have arrived over at TheBerryFix showing off the Slider’s beautiful touchscreen, and somewhat stylish body. You also get a pretty good look at this unreleased BlackBerry Slider, which will ship with BlackBerry 6 (OS 6.0) and the new webkit browser. Check out more of the pictures after the break…
